Thurlestone Parish has a deep history in farming but only eight of the original farms survived into the last century, one of those being Cross Park. Mr & Mrs Sharley of Somerset bought the freehold in 1958 and farmed mainly livestock on their 56 acres of farmland. Later, the farm land was redistributed and the buildings were broken up and developed. This is where Higher Cross Park, the original farm house, was born. Now 12 acres, it became a B&B under the ownership of John & Wendy Taylor who previously ran Grafton Towers in South Sands, Salcombe. Over the last 12 years, this has been a warm, loving home for the owners and their family but now you have the opportunity to enjoy it also.
